^^ agreed 100%. Nothing wrong with a .38 snubbie. Idiot simple, safe, and reliable.
Just put my old Colt Agent in the drawer for a rest, replaced it with a new .38 S&W Airweight snubbie. I can pocket carry in any sort of cargo pants (5-11 classic Khaki's stand out at the ones), with a IWB Galco it dissapears under a polo shirt, it drops into the pocket of my leather flying jacket and goes-away, and has all of bases covered. What caused me to drawer the Colt and buy a J Frame Smith? It's amazing how much smaller a J frame is versus a Colt frame. Loved the Colt, but the Smith is just... smaller. 5 shots... yup. Make them count. Kieth hard SWC's all the way. Might sent it out for a hammer-bobbing, out of the box trigger pull is like silk. Willie . |

Odd...
One of my standard carry guns is a cut-down S&W model 10. It fits in my right front trouser pocket with little showing.
Of course, I'm 'old' (lower 60s) and don't wear tight clothing anymore. For those who wear trousers so tight a casual observer can count the change in your pocket, this probably won't work. Another pistol that served well is the Star BKS (I think that's the aluminum frame model) in 9x19 chambering. They are not made any more, but available on the used market. The Star PD in .45 ACP was a pretty decent pocket pistol as well. Neither were intended for constant shooting, but they held up fairly well. Too bad they haven't been adopted by someone else. I will confess this: For those times I cannot wear a jacket or outer garment, I prefer an appendix carry with a IWB holster and a non-tucked polo or golf shirt. (Second confession, I play neither polo nor golf.)

I pocket carry in my vest/jacket pocket quite a lot.
Usually my bodyguard 380, or occasionally my sp101. For those of you that carry in pants pockets - where do you keep your keys/phone/knife? I never have room in my pockets for a gun.

"For those of you that carry in pants pockets - where do you keep your keys/phone/knife?
I never have room in my pockets for a gun. " Left front pocket, keys, two pocketknives, asthma rescue inhaler. Right front pocket, J-frame in a Desantis Nemesis or Uncle Mike's pocket holster and nothing else. Left hip pocket, wallet. Right hip, handkerchief. Phone in the left front if I'm wearing a shirt without a pocket, otherwise breast pocket. Usually wear an old, small cell-phone belt case with two Bianchi Speed Strips and a small knife. Kind of an unfashionable, lumpy look, but I'm 75 years old so nobody gives a good brisk damn. Least of all me.

Dayman
Cell phone is in a holder on my belt, keys are minimal and in the other front pocket along with Boy Scout pocket knife.
Like I said, my trousers are loose and the pockets rather generous.

You completely forgot about .22lr
Today I purchased my newest toy, fits nicer into my palms than the G19-sized ISSC M22 I have owned previously. And the overall lenght - THAT is what I call a pocket gun

The perfect concealed carry piece, IMO, is the S&W 340PD, 5-shot.357mag DAO j-framed revolver. Small, incredibly lightweight at only 11.4oz and crazy potent.
It's unpleasent side is shooting it, but who cares when confronted with life or death. I can shoot it well enough, it just isn't fun. It's become one of my favorite companions.

I still haven't heard of a true 45acp pocket gun.
It wouldn't surprise me to see Kahr or somebody pull it off someday though. |
