Opening Win 70 pre 64 boltface from standard to magnum
I still have a custom Win 70 pre 64 stock from a cancelled project lying around, and want to build a 325 WSM rifle with it. I've been looking for a magnum bolt face action, but so far no luck. How difficult is it to open the boltface of a standard 30-06 action to the magnum dimensions?

Any decent 'smith can do it and install a new extractor or modify the existing one.
The receiver rails may need to be opened up for the larger diameter cases. |
