Big Problem... Big Big XD-m problem
ok guys... big problem here. So I took apart my XD-m (.40S&W) the other day to clean it. Decided to take the trigger group out as well and clean that. Then I took the back sear and all out to clean that section out too. After about 20 minuets of fighting with it I got it ALL back together just like it was before. When I replaced the takedown lever and put the slide back on, the take down lever gave me some resistance. It went back into place but here is the problem: The trigger no longer works, and with the takedown lever in the up position (to take the slide off) the slide still stops as if it were down. Should I have taken the WHOLE frame apart? No, and I know this... but any ideas on how I can fix this???
Thanks in advance, -Eric |

Find a local competent gunsmith or call up Springfield. I would recommend doing either one, but not the third option which is you fiddling with it some more. Let someone that knows the inner workings take care of it to eliminate the possibility of causing harm to the firearm or more importantly, you.

Springer precision has some videos on XD & XDm takedown procedures. I think this is the first of three parts. Maybe, it would help if you watched them to see if you can see what you did wrong without having to disassemble it again. |
