Anything stoked with bp. Winchester AA's with 7 1/2 will get the job done but the targets are so big and close it really doesn't matter.

Anything cheap with a brass base... Alum base shells seem to jam my coach guns and they dont want to open... I usually buy the#6 shotshells...
I alternate tween those and BP loaded brass shotshells when i want to cloud up the place! |

Most of the time, I reload BP and 1 1/8 oz 7 or 7 1/2 shot. For smokeless loads, I use a minimum load of Red Dot and 7/8 oz shot.

Like byronw999 related, I too found the non-brass base to jam my shotgun. The metal expands tightly against the barrel wall and keeps the shotgun from breaking open without difficulty and once open, the shells do not fall out by themselves. Costs gobs of time. I have no problem with the brass shells. The brass is stronger and resists expansion. Gun opens cleanly and shells fallout smoothly. I shoot the Win AA.

My own house brand which consists of STS hulls, BP or sub, over powder card, lubed fiber wads, 7 1/2 shot.
When I was using that newfangled smokeless stuff (it'll never catch on); I used the cheapest 100 pack I could get at wally world.
