What an idiot! Anybody with any sense knows not to shoot at water because of the chance of a bullet glancing off of the water and going God knows where. This, coupled with the fact of knowing people were in the area, is just inexcusable behavior. I'm just glad a tragedy didn't happen.

P.S. I had a close call of my own some years back while rabbit hunting with my best friend. We lost sight of each other and somehow I got ahead of him. He saw a rabbit and fired at it with his .22, and I heard the round whiz right past my ear! I promply hit the dirt and yelled at him. After that, we always made sure we kept in visual contact every few yards.

Reading "Capitalism: The Unknown Ideal," by Ayn Rand, should be required of every politician and in every high school.

"Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect everyone who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright force. Whenever you give up that force, you are ruined."
--Patrick Henry, during Virginia's Convention to Ratify the Constitution (1788)
