Very nice! How long have you had your R1? What has your experience been with it?

I bought one a few months ago, am loving it. I'm very happy with it. I replaced the trigger and did some tuning.

Did you acquire your R1 new? If so, how are your modifications going to effect the factory warranty?

I can see your effort as cost effective with a friend providing all the free labor, but for others would it be less expensive just to buy a more decked out pistol from the "get go"?

Kind of hard to comment on your personalized pistol without a better picture. Sounds like with parts alone, you may of doubled the acquisition cost of the R1. Might of tripled it if the labor was not free.

As it stands, you have a personalized "one of a kind" R1. Hope you enjoy.

I will try to post better pics have trouble getting to post. I love my R1 answer to question also disabled firing pin block like a series 70 trigger now.
I already have other 1911 including Kimber. I wanted something of my own.
I wanted one of a kind as far as warranty the only thing Remington is frame and slide plus small parts. I got pistol in on trade so got less money in it. Had a year before deciding wanted to build one. I work on them myself also enjoying tinkering half fun of owning 1911 pistols.

Much better pictures. I like it all except the extended beavertail. Not a criticism of your particular pistol but just a personal thing. I think I am in the minority since it seems to be a popular purchase choice or change by many on their 1911s.

Let us know how it shoots after wringing it out.
