Which Ammo to buy 5.56 or 223

I am going to a gun show next week and want to get a box of 1000. for my AR what mostly to stock up and use for general purpose plinking and Zombie defense . Would 223 of 5.56 be the best to buy and which brand Pmc or Federal? What are the pros an cons of each. I read the other post on preasure and my colt match should handle either, correct me if I am wrong.

You have a Colt Match rifle and you are asking about bottom dollar fodder to feed it?

I'll bite. Between PMC and Federal I'll take Federal.

I wasn't worried about price just what is best as far as acuracy and reliability and best overall for the gun long term.

Between PMC or Federal, either. Just buy brass cased.

They both have always went bang for me . I would have to give the edge to Fed for accuracy but not buy much .

JLK, typically if you have a rifle chambered for 5.56 (like most stock ARs), 5.56 will be more accurate than .223 due to it fitting the chamber dimensions slightly better.
