gun carry in smokey mountains

Do any of you know the gun laws for the smokies? I live in Indiana and have a carry permit. I am going to Tennessee and renting a cabin down there, so I am wondering if I can carry my pistol down there and also if I can carry it in the park. I would also like to know if I can take my shotgun to keep in the cabin. Thanks for any help.

According to NRA-ILA's website, both Tennessee and Kentucky recognize all out of state permits so you should be good all the way there and back. Of course, if you're still not sure your best bet would be to contact the Tennessee state police.

I am from KY and visit there at east twice a year and have always carried. I don't think you will have a problem. Give the state police a call and they will let you know for sure.

The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is a NO CARRY zone. See: http://www.nps.gov/grsm/planyourvisi...ip-planner.pdf
