Lead free Nosler Ballistic Tips ?

Buddy a mine just got some Nosler Ballistic tips for me to reload for his .243, they are 55 grain Lead free Ballistic Tips, not having loaded them before what can I/He expect on bullet performance. Are they going to expand explosively like a regular BT or Barnes Varmit grenade or more like a Barnes Tipped Triple shock. Any experience. The Nosler site says explosive expansion and I would think that with a 55 grain bullet in the .243 you could move them pretty fast.

I'm not sure.

I'd suggest asking that question here....http://www.noslerreloading.com/phpBB2/

You should get regular shooting guy answers , not just Noslers.

The reloading forum might have a good answer.

I use that exact bullet in 243Win and 243AI.... 24" barrel velocities, 3,997fps from the 243Win, haven't fully developed loads or chronied the AI yet.

That bullet is designed as an explosive varmint bullet, exactly the opposite of the T/TSX line.

Thank you sir. Everything I could find on them said they were desined to expand explosivley, just seemed strange with a solid copper body. I haven't picked a recipe for them yet, still researching what recipes are out there vs. what powder I have on hand.
