Annealing absolutely necessary? - Page 3

I size 4 to 8 cases and measure each from head to datum . That gives me an average . My average as been 1.622 for the last 500 cases sized . Today with the new annealed cases they average 1.618 . Only thing that has changed is that I annealed the cases . I guess there could be another reason but I'm not seeing it

...and you are correct. Annealing has softened the shoulder (as it should) to "take & keep" the
setback more readily. This is a good thing.
