Can anyone post the link of the LEO that was killed...
During the traffic stop by the obese guy that survived center mass rounds from the LEO's .357, and yet was able to murder the officer with one shot from a .22?
I can't seem to find it with a search, wanted to share it with people who could not believe the story EDIT: Nevermind, found it, thanks Last edited by FrontSight; October 3, 2006 at 04:46 PM. |

I believe the weapon used against was a .223 caliber Ruger. Both died I believe too, just the BG lived long enough to kill the officer.
It is so sad; the officer carried a large caliber and put them where he was suppose to and still had no effect. That's just not "fair".

I seem to recall a video of an officer who shot a great big fat black man with a .45 several times in the chest but was shot with a .22 in the arm and had it perforate his vitals several several times. Fat guy was sitting calmly when help arrived despite being shot many times COM. Made me want a .22...

Trooper Coates was indeed the Trooper's name, and he served with the South Carolina State Police/ Highway Patrol.
He was shot by a 22lr in the armpit, through the aeorta. The shooter lived and if I'm not badly mistaken he made a full recovery.
