Ammo at the range?
I see plenty of threads on preferred ammo for home defense/self defense and have acquired a good idea of what rounds I'll want to keep loaded for that purpose, but for the range what do you guys use? Specifically the .40 cal guys... not trying to be a total cheapass, but the more practice the better, so lower price doesn't hurt

I use 100 round boxes of Winchester FMJ's that I can get at Walmart for about $16. The range where I shoot has boxes of 50 for around $12. I'm not a big fan of Walmart, but with that kind of savings I can bear to go there.
I also use Winchester FMJ's for 9mm and .45 ACP. I have only had one misfire out of probably 1500 rounds. It makes fine range ammo. |

You find real deals here on Blazer. Even bigger savings if you buy ten or more boxes.

Cheap is good, more practice helps. This in mind, also remember that you need to fire your chosen self defense ammo on occasion, and practice as often as possible with less expensive ammo that has closely matching characteristics. Different ammo reacts differently in different weapons. Accuracy, recoil, etc can vary widely from one type of ammo to another.

Ammo at the range
Where I Go, They do not allow Hand loads from private folks. If you bring you own ammo, it must be commerical made and no hot loads.

Winchester White box for my issued .40 as I am required to use only factory ammo in it. $15.99 per 100/box at WalMart. Reloads on my Dillon for my personal .40 running at about $8.50 per 100 figuring all of the componant costs.
