600 Yards Iron Sight Mosin Nagant!

What's up Firing Line members! Today I got a chance to get out with my trusty ole Mosin Nagant and do some shooting at 600 yards. I was shooting at a 1/2" steel plate that is 16" x 21", I had it hanging from chains on a saw horse. I used Brown Bear 174gr FMJ ammo. I hope you guys enjoy the video! Please tell me what you think!!

Those mosin's WILL shoot if you are able to do your part!! At our club we have had two mosin shoots: We shot prone at 200, 300 and 600 yards. You gotta remember, Mosins are not bench rest target rifles. They are minute of man battle rifles!!! They will put holes in paper at 600!!! With iron sights!!
The big problem with these rifles is most shooters are not iron sight proficient!!
Takes practice, proper position, rock steady NPOA and knowing come-ups!! Get thee to an Appleseed to learn the fundamentals and be surprised how effective irons are!!!

My mosin was the very first rifle I ever purchased, and she is a whole lot more accurate than I. That being said, I do surprisingly well with irons using surplus ammo.

lot's of fun to be had with those beaten up commie rifles.

Nice shooting!
