Help with just a few shotgun accessories

Finally have a Mossberg 500 Feild/HD combo set aside at my LGS. He is a good guy and will hold it for me until Monday. I am going to put a knoxx specops gen 2 recoil reducing stock on it with adjustable LOP. This way Vermonter and Mrs. Vermonter can run the same shotgun.

I have a Mossberg 535 with the turkey barrel and a bunch of chokes that I have used as my do it all (except deer) hunting shotgun.

I would like to leave the new 500 setup with the 18 1/2 barrel and use it that way for close shots on Bear and Deer.

Therefore I need an optic that can stay on the gun and be useful for HD as well as help with accuracy using slugs at 100 yards or less. Does anyone have suggestions for a good red dot optic?

Also looking for a good sling preferably a single point or another variant that keeps the gun infornt of me without being a nut buster.

The best optic for close use are your own two eyes. Point the gun at the target and pull the trigger.

for close up use however I am thinking shots with slugs out at distance as well therefore I need an optic that is usable in both instances which is why I was thinking red dot.

Any other suggestions?

within 10 meters i wouldnt even use the sights let alone an optic .

I'd say go for ghost ring sights . they dont need batteries

Before I added anything, I wood take the gun and the loads I intended to use to the range or pattern steel to see how well I did with it as it is. If after that, I decided I needed something, I would start with the GR sights, and slowly go from there.

This isn't a BR rifle, so minute of deer is most likely acceptable

I agree with you gentelmen regarding close range. I know myself well enough to know that I am not going to hunt with a shotgun without an optic.

As I want to leave it setup the same way 24x7 and use it for hunting as well as HD the optic will need to serve for both.
