Benelli SBE II safety is hard to push

Can a novice [me] fix it, or do I need to take it to a gunsmith?

Otherwise, love that gun.

Your service manual will discribe (it's really easy) how to remove the trigger assembly. From there, you can see the component parts of the safety, how to disassemble it (again, pretty easy) and you can inspect, clean and lubricate as needed.

Cheers,
C
