Prices for 629 Mountain Guns?

What is the going price now for a Excellent condition S&W 629 4" 44 Mag Mountain Gun?? No lock, Box and papers, 12 rounds of factory .44 Special through it.
Been under a bed for the rest of its life until now.

It would be LNIB bix I just had to try out the silky smooth
DA and ultra crisp SA trigger pulls for a few rounds.

We do need to know the dash number.....but $ 600 - $ 800 is probably the ballpark...on a 4" model 629.

( box and papers are irrelevent in my opinion )...because I wouldn't want them if he had them ...and I wouldn't pay a premium for the gun, if he had them....but its often debated on the forum. I'm a collector-shooter ....not a collector-seller.../ I buy what I like, shoot everything I own, regardless if it was new and unfired in a box or not..

My Local shop just put one out yesterday that looked pretty scratched up and used and they were asking $750. I don't know if that's good or not. We are in CA, so everything runs high here.

Scratched up and used . . . but only 12 rounds of 44 Special through it ?

Strange.

Maybe the bed which is was under got a lot of vigorous use.

Anyway, the price quoted by someone earlier in the thread sounds about right . . . maybe a little higher.

Sadly, I got rid of one years ago. And I regret that move. (I do have one in 45 Colt though).
