has anyone tried this?

i have sevearl shotguns w/rifled barrels, so about 15 yra ago thought to use one for short range 25 yds or so for pheasants. it dont work. 25 yd patterns were over 6 t sq. might work though for 10-25 ft rooms for self defense, but havent had the ambition to do further testing. any thoughts on this? lyle

Shotguns with rifled barrels are designed for the exclusive use of slugs with sabots. No wonder you got poor patterns with shot.
