AR pistol sight question
Detach carry handle or flip up sights best for an AR pistol?
Pro/Cons? I need to order some sort of sight system for my AR pistol so I can shoot it.. |

A red dot, like a Strikefire, Aimpoint or Eotech seems to work.
I have put the Strikefire on a Vector V51 .308 and am more accurate with that, than the factory sights. |

I don't have that type of money right now, maybe in the future. I spent all my money this week on finishing my upper.

the reflex sight is definitely the way to go. it's hard to keep an AR pistol steady to use iron sights.
if you have to use iron sights, try to find a hooded front and V shaped rear. you don't have to peer thru a tiny hole that way.

The StrikeFire costs about the same as a good set of iron sights, between $200 and $250. I have two and they're great.

I put a green laser on mine. It seemed a bit heavy to hold up and aim. So i use it from a low ready position with the green laser.

i actually have a green laser on mine as well as iron sights. the green laser gets more use than my iron sights or my reflex. i just find myself shooting the pistol from the hip more often. looking through sights on a pistol is just awkward.

XS Sights are one of my favorites
So far I have used XS Sights on handguns, rifles, and shotguns. I have been happy with the results on each installation. In fact I just installed a white stripe with tritium insert front blade on my brand new LE6920 that I got as a Christmas present.

How much are these "green lazers"? Mine has no rails, just handguard.

you could always swap out the handguard or even get those adapters that put small rail sections on a standard handguard.
mine is a sig p556 swat, so i have full quad rails. i put on the green lasermax with pressure pad activation. https://www.lasermax.com/ProductDeta...9/Default.aspx
