ballistics manual

Can anyone suggest manual for a beginner regarding ballistics; especially for popular rifle rounds?
Thanks
Dave

Can't say as I've ever seen a pure ballistics manual. Ballistics is a very complicated thing. However, there are ballistics tables that will give you the bullet drop and velocities of factory ammo. Remington's site has a ballistics page for their ammo. Ammo made by other makers will vary a bit, but you'll get a general idea what the drop etc will be for a given cartridge and bullet weight. http://www.remington.com/products/am...on/ballistics/

This is a great book that does a good job of explaining ballistics, but it may be more than what you are looking for. Most of the reloading manuals put out by the bullet companies are very good at explaining the basics and will include most of the info you are looking for.

Sierra`s Reloading Manual has a chapter on explaining ballistics. And explains how to use their software program, Infinity. I thought it was easy, but it can get confusing at times.
