is this cal. leagle for sass shooting in the long range cat. out of a lever gun? im couriouse cause i found a nice long octogon bbl 94 in 30-30 that id like to get but would like to be able to use it

thats for regular matches not long range i havenot seen any thing that says no except for main match rifles but i was looking for an answer on use in long range

The web address that Whiskey posted does give you the main match rifle information but if you scroll down a couple pages you'll find the section on side matches and a description of the rifles which can be used for long range.

A lever action Winchester 94 in 30-30 is perfectly legal for long distance. You can not use in main match due to steel targets and their closeness. The bullets must be lead. In 1895, the Winchester 1894 first came out in .30-30. It is a cowboy cartridge and rifle, just not for main match due to the targets.
