problems seating 223 bullets
I am having trouble when i seat my 223 bullets. i am getting a ring around the tip of the bullet where the seater plug comes in contact with the bullet. i have set the expander plug on my rcbs dies all the way down and it still happens, i also put a slight chamfer on the inside of the neck. i am using 55fmj and 62fmj ,and 55 nosler ballistic tips. just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and might have any suggestions?

A ring around the front end of the bullet is pretty normal even when using more expensive seating dies. In most cases a good cleaning of the seating stem will cut the ring down a little bit. Now if you are getting deformed bullets from the seating die, then this is not normal.

You may have the wrong seater plug installed. They come for round nosed and spizter bullets. It's not a big deal either way. The point of the bullet isn't as important as the base.
