impulse buy at the gun shop

I was at the gun shop the other day looking at their used guns and noticed a really nice semi-auto in excellent shape. Now I try to really research guns before I buy but I bought this one on impulse even though I had not heard much about it. It was a winchester 1400 two and three quarter chamber with winchoke barrel. After I got it home and read some about it I started thinking maybe it wasn't the best decision I've ever made.Seems alot of people have had bad experiences with them. I guess my only consolation is that I did'nt pay much for it. Has anybody on this forum owned one of these shotguns? Thanks alot and as always I respect your opinions much.

If it is the 1400 MK2 then I own one. My dad said he bought it back in the
70's when he was around 16. Never was a problem to him, and now that I have it it has never gave me a problem.

I had a 1400 and it never missed a beat. In fact, I wouldn't mind picking up another one!

I owned one of those that i bought about 82 at Kmart for $200.00
I used it for 15 years without any trouble whatsoever.
I sold it just because and wish i had it back.
I actually read in some gun mag about a year ago that they included it in their list of the 10 worst guns ever made.
Either way,l I liked mine.
