The recent shooting in Las Vegas...

I am referring to the recent incident where a man and his wife
assassinated two police officers while they were eating at a restaurant after declaring "this is a revolution".

They then (for whatever reason) went to a Walmart.
A citizen with a carry license saw them with their guns.
When he saw the husband, he was going to take action.

I think most normal people have some Good Samaritan in them.
However, when the citizen approached the guy he was shot dead
by the wife who he didn't know was there.

Do you think intervening in a situation that you are not directly
involved in is a potentially dangerously slippery slope?
It seems he might have been better to seek cover/escape and call the police.

Your thoughts?

Clearly, in hindsight, he would have been better choosing a different course of action.

But every situation is different.

Or if he had called 911 and waited, he still might've been shot and killed -- along with 20 other people. Kind of hard to know...

The only thing I will fault him for is saying he was going to confront the shooter. You might draw your gun and look for an opportunity to shoot, but you don't confront them. Shoot them in the back preferably, like a coward Then duck and cover in case they return fire. OTOH, maybe that's what he meant when he said "confront".
