Powder prices
What's up with the powder price increases? Usually I've experienced $2 a pound or so increases every couple years. Several months ago I paid $17 a pound for Hogdon - now Cabela's in my area has it at $25 a pound. Pretty big jump in a few months - what's up?

Ijust paid 22$ dollars for a can of h4227 and 21$ for a can of tightgroup.I guess powder is no different than any other product or commodity. The prices are going through the roof for everything.

The official inflation numbers, for the last time period, show an annualised rate of about 5 %....higher than in many years. This is, of course, led by increases in energy prices. It is not surprising, therefore, that powder prices have taken a jump....probably EVERYTHING will now take a jump (whether there is any good reason for it, or not).

Just bought H110 at $18 a pound at Gander Mountain. Unfortunely they are pretty limited except for the basic supplies.

Surprise!
I bypassed Cabela's in my area and drove another 25 miles to a small town "gun store." Varget and RE-19 were both $17.95. When I came home I found a can of RE-19 I purchased in Jan 2004 - was $17.95. So much for Cabela's............. |
