I just recently purchased my first pistol so no I don't have a backup firearm. I do also carry a knife. I suppose, when I receive my SA 1911 GI for christmas I could carry that as well as my XD in an ankle holster of sorts. I think I would rather purchase myself a small frame revolver for my ankle as my backup firearm.

I should say that SOMETIMES I carry a BUG. When I do it is usually my 25 Beretta or my Walther 380. Sometimes I just carry the 380. So my BUG is my primary. Usually my primary is my G27. Confused yet, I am!

Your primary weapon is the one that you stop using first.

I always thought it would be cool to wear a BUG on one of my boots....
I guess I would need to get a pair of boots first |

Never have, and seldom carry a spare mag. I don't feel a real need where I live. If 13 can't take care of the situation...

When the weather is cold like now, I will sometimes put on a sweatshirt and a pair of bibs over it. I will put a S&W 36 and 60 Chief in each pocket of the sweatshirt under the bibs. Two guns and easy to get too. So I would call that a BUG.

BUG
Nope, carry one with one extra mag. IMO the need for 2 guns is even more remote than needing the one. Just my .02 worth

My primary is the 45ACP Glock model 30 with IWB holster and I keep a Kel-Tec P3AT 380 caliber in my front pocket in a pocket holster.

No bug...just my primary. Sometimes, I carry what many would consider a BUG as my primary. I do carry a spare mag or speed strip.

My 642 is always with me in a vest compartment designed for it, or in the Winter when my primary may be bundled up under a heavy coat, I put my 642 in my coat pocket. If I go to the Doctor, Dentist, etc., where wearing my primary wouldn't be prudent, my 642 is still with me secured in a zipped vest pocket, as mentioned. Also with me is an extra speed loader for the 642 as well as at least one extra mag. for the primary. I also have the ability to arm someone else, if I choose.
I once went to get X-rayed and the Technician asked for my vest to hang up. She said, "Wow, that's heavy, what's in there, a gun?, just lay down here on your side, Mr. Wells and we'll be done in a jiffy........" With her gift for chat, it wasn't necessary for me to get a word in. Quote:
Some have even indicated that they pick and choose where they "need to be armed", or carry back up. Bubba will decide where you need to be armed--not you. I'm paranoid you see, I know Murphy is going to get some one. Will it be me or someone who plays the odds? Last edited by Nnobby45; November 19, 2008 at 07:05 PM. |

I usually carry my Taurus 85 on my ankle as my BUG. If I'm wearing long pants it usually there.

I voted no, but I have carried my 1911 strong side OWB and a MK40 SOB IWB. 90% of the time I only have one gun... on my person, somewhere.

Yes, sometimes. My primary varies but when I carry a bug, it is usually a Beretta Tomcat. Sometimes a Bersa 380cc.

Nope. I carry either a J frame S&W in my right front pocket -or- a M39/M639 in my waistband in behind my right hip. Usually carry one reload for whichever I am carrying.
