question about berry plated wadcutters

I am looking to try out a 2500 round run of wad cutters and was wondering if the plating makes the edges to round? do they still cut good clean holes like a lead wadcutter or are they more ragged?

I have not used Berry's plated WCs but I have shot enough different cast bullets to feel confident in saying you will get good clean holes. IF the bullets are remotely close to square shouldered they will cut clean holes in paper.

i have shot 100k+ of cast wadcutters but i dont know about the plated thats the info i am looking for.

I have used a different brandslated wad cutters. You get nice round holes, just like lead ones

I have used Berry's plated wadcutters, bith HB and DE, and can confirm that they cut nice round holes in the target.

thanks for the confirmation about them. I guess im a creature of habit and i was mad i cant get a lee mould for casting 32 s&w long wadcutters so i will buying them

With the plated don't use them low lead powder charges. I know a lot of people like light shooting wadcutters with the plated be sure to step up the loads.

i have no issue with shooting a little higher but i will do batches of 500 test rounds with different loads to see what the gun likes

What Bossman is saying is that with plated bullets can you stick one in the barrel using some loads that work just fine for lead. Plated bullets have more friction than lead. Also, some plated loads that tested fine in short barrels will stick in long barrels. So use caution and pay attention if you are in the low end of lead loads.

I knew you could use paper to patch bullets with, but I didn't know you could use berries to plate them with.

I use a lot of Berry's and Rainier .38 wadcutters. They cut about as clean as most lead .38 wadcutters/HBWC's.
