Pa TFL'ers
Several of you have asked about a possible shotgun shoot. I'm game and will set it up if you guys will show up!
How about a Pump Gun clays shoot. Bring your 870,500,1300 or Nova and shoot sporting clays. No autos, O/U's or SXS allowed. Drag out that HD Ithaca you have had collecting dust in the closet. Right now I would consider holding it at out usual venue, Water and Wings. They have a championship clays course and 5 stand. We could work with them to make the shoot doable for pumps. Need to toss around dates. Downside of this is that it will probably be on the expensive side, about $30 to shoot 100 clays. Any takers.

Don't have a shotgun but I can chip in ammo and/or clays if I can get a loaner.
June 1 doesn't work for me though. - pdmoderator

This Saturday?! Egads! I already have shooting plans.
I am going to French Creek for a little hand-tossed clay busting. I am hoping to take at least one newbie along. Let me see if I can do some rearranging of the ol' schedule. Noon would be best for me and eating FIRST would be a good idea since the SC course takes a couple/few hours to run, right? Mike

You're killin' me! I just rearranged some stuff so I could get up there around noonish.
Oh well, I will go back to plan A. I think the DE shoot is the second weekend in June so I don't think that is a good date unless there are a lot of PA/NY/NJ shooters who are not attending Jody's event. Later, Mike

OK, Since Jody's shoot is in June we will have to push it back into July or later.
After you guys return sunburned and eaten by various arthropods in Delaware we will discuss a date. Early July is not good for me.

I don't have to work Saturday now. Forget about your baffroom, bust some clays instead. Hmm well we might have to wait until the middle of July if we don't do it this weekend. I have a ton of friends that would want to come to one of these. But I haven't had time to get a hold of any of them since I'm working crazy hours. Let's put a little planning into this.

Planning! We don't need no stinkin' planning!
Actually that is a good idea. I need to go over the course to see if it is suitable as is or whether we can request some changes. I'll be there at 10AM or thereabouts. This is not an official TFL 870 shoot OK. (Actually who cares, shoot anyway!) The real pump gun shoot will be sometime in the future.

OOPS! Bad Manners
9MM Mike, should we wait for you, if yes when should we expect you. Anyone else gonna show up. Don't want to wait too late to start as the course takes about 3 hours to complete.

Don't wait for me tomorrow. I will be taking a newbie up to French Creek for some SG 101.
Thanks for asking though... Mike

You might want to check with W&W to see if they have any tournaments scheduled for those dates before we consider it. Or doesn't it matter? Were we there during a tournament last time?
What exactly is the July shotgun shoot going to be? I'm pretty exhausted so It's just as well we don't do it tomorrow.

W & W has cancelled all future tournaments due to poor turnout. Seems the sport of Sporting Clays is heading for hard times due to the economy.
About the proposed shoot: I am setting up a course specifically tuned to Pump Shotguns. I can do this without the course having to change anything by re sequencing the numbers of targets. Every stand (20 in all!) will allow the shooter to load THREE shells per presentation. Most stands will only throw two clays per presentation so you will have an extra shot if you miss To do this safely I will have to act as safety officer and will not shoot the course. This is to make sure everyone unloads before they move from the shooting stand. Some stands willl have three clays per presentation. Safety will be heavily emphasized here, should not be a problem for TFL'ers. We all know to load only when in firing position and not move from the firing position with a loaded gun, right Anyone can come. I can accomodate only 5 shooters but if more want to come I will schedule a second date. The only hard and fast rule will be PUMP SHOTGUNS ONLY! We all have to start at the same time, and will move from stand to stand. Other shooters will be using the course and I do not want to run into conflicts with them as they will be shooting the normal sporting course. The cost for 100 birds is $30. This is the charge for a normal round of Sporting Clays. Bring about 150 shells, more if you have them. I have not talked to the range owners about this yet. Please let me do so before any of you talk to them OK OK OK!

Mr. Ross,
Am I going to have to buy an 870 next? Or an AR? I have 3 friends that want to go up to W&W but I will have to beat the you know what out of them to get them to come up. Let's try and nail a date down.

The only weekend I cannot come is the weekend of the 4th of July. (July 6 and 7)
Any other time is OK. Herr Soda Pop, you and your 3 paisans would make a great dry run for the shoot. When do you want to shoot. I have two pump guns to use. 9mm mike and PD Moderator how about some input here, you both had interest. I will consider several dates if we all can't come on one date. How bout June 15 for the first group. Another group on the 13th of July. PS Show up this time
