Editing

Apparently after about 72 hours , the thread can no longer be edited.
This presents problems in being able to add more pic. ,details, etc and cancel.
Why not allow for editing at any time.

By "the thread can no longer be edited", I assume you mean the post can no longer be edited. That is true. The reasoning is to prevent someone coming back weeks, months or even years later and essentially changing the meaning or flow of a thread. 72 hours is considered enough time to make any changes or corrections the poster may require. Additions to the thread such as pix or more details can always be added in a following post. Canceling a thread is not possible for the user, but that request can always be submitted to a forum moderator.
