One last 9mm CZ 75 / Beretta 92 / Browning Hi Power

Ok, I think I need one more 9mm and I want one of the iconic steel frame. This will be just a fun gun and range toy. What I have currently in 9mm:

S&W 5906
CZ Rami
Sig P290
Glock 19.

I have narrowed it down to the following 3. I think I am leaning toward the Hi Power just because I already have the CZ Rami and I have a Beretta 84 in 380 which is similar in design. I do not own any Browning guns and would like to "check" that off my collection. The only thing about the Hi Power I don't like compared to the others is I rank it last in looks vs the other 2.

which would you choose and why?

I havn't seen CZ 75's in a while... have you?

I have a 92A1 and love it, but if I bought one today it would be a stainless CZ75

Voted for the CZ, since I've been hankering for one and already have HPs. But if it truly were the last 9mm I were ever going to add, the HP seems a more suitable choice for rounding out a collection. The 92 is aluminum framed, if you're set on steel that might make your choice a little easier.

I've had all of the guns mentioned. I'd probably go with the BHP (if it had a good trigger), just to have a good SA pistol in my collection. Especially if it was an older model in good condition.

I have 4 Hi Powers, so guess what I'd pick? ;-). CZ 75 and Beretta 92 are too thick in my hands. Hi Powers need some work to make me happy with the trigger, but I like the feel/balance better than about any other 9mm I've held.

The CZ 75. I can't find anything I have not liked about mine yet and I have put 5,000++ rounds through my so far. There is the stock trigger thing but just about anyone can do a OK trigger job on it following instructions/video.

My CZ is one gun I would never sell or trade.

I love all three guns!

But if you were to put a gun to my head (pun intended) I would go with the Beretta, I just looove the trigger, smooth and light.

While I do really like the CZ and 92 a lot, I would have to go with the HP. To me it feels like no other pistol in the world. My idea of the perfect classic.

I have a CZ-75B and its definitely one of my favorites, but I had to vote for the Hi Power. I don't own one of those yet, but its very hard to go wrong with it. Also, you might have an easier time finding a BHP over the CZ!

I have a CZ-75B in 9mm, and I like it pretty well. The trigger pull on it is long though, as is the reset. I think a Hi-Power made by Browning is going to be a better made gun. I can't speak to the trigger on one.

Uh oh, the Beretta is losing...

Well, I voted for the BHP. I have a 92 and I love it, but I think I would probably like the BHP more. The 92 was just first on my list for other reasons.

Out of the three, I chose the CZ. I already have a nice Belgian Hi-Power. I never liked the Beretta 92.

I just went through this same drill - wanted another high-end 9mm, so I bought a used Sig X-Five Competition.

If you're after a pistol with a steel frame, all of the Beretta Model 92s (at least the most common FS versions) that I'm acquainted with have alloy frames.

Tough choice between the HP and the CZ....
I went w/the HP only because it's a timeless classic.

The CZ could be a better fit for a "fun gun" though since you can get a Kadet conversion for it.

A BHP is a hard pistol to beat. I love my 92FS but it has an alloy frame rather than the steel specified, plus the BHP is such a classic.

I don't have first-hand experience, but folks commonly say that the CZ trigger is a little rough when new, if that matters to you.

All three are fine pistols, though - I don't think you can go wrong with any of them.

My LGS has 3 CZ's, CZ75, CZ75BD, and the duty. Then I saw two CZ75s at the gunshow last weekend. I was surprised normaly they are fairly rare locally.

Browning HP are just as rare though. Same LGS had an older used Browning.

CZ.

Beretta has too many parts and is too big for what it does. Both the BHP or CZ can perform the same mission in a smaller package.

I prefer the CZ b/c it has a DA/SA trigger. Both are good guns with terrific grips for smaller hands.

Beretta 92 all day long. I have big dude hands so to me it's not oversized at all. In fact, other guns feel undersized, case in point, the CZ-75 is an excellent design but will never serve as a carry or nightstand piece for me because I can barely grab the small slide.

I have big hands too, but they are not beefy. More long fingers and large palm, and the CZ's fit me better than most other semi-autos. The trigger reach is better than the BHP for me, and I find the grip very comfortable. The small slide is a benefit due to the lower bore axis and I like that the slide rails run inside the frame as that gives a secure feel. Racking the silde is easy for me, but I'm used to CZ's as I've had them since the mid 90's.

All that being said, I voted BHP as I think everyone should have one. My example is a 1994 made, MK III, and is my most accurate centerfire pistol. Not by much though, my CZ's and HK P7's are very close as are some of my 1911's. The BHP is perfectly sized for a 9MM, and while it may have a less than perfect trigger out of the box, they can be made ery slick with some minor mods.

I'd choose the HP because I've been lusting for one for quite some time. Regardless, I think it would make a fine addition to your collection.
