I shoot the TNTs out of my 700 and so does my brother. If you are taking the hides, it won't work. It blows a hole in the hide big enough to throw your hat in. All of the rifles we shoot this .243 caliber bullet in are under an inch at 100 yds so the bullet will shoot good groups. If you just want good clean kills, this is your bullet.

I think you'll find all the varmint bullets are designed to disintegrate with maximum damage on the target. If you are looking for a hunting bullet that will give you maximum accuracy and not explode, Sierra's GameKing series includes 85, 90, and 100 grain bullets. If the 70 grain weight is what you want and you don't have a problem with a lot of damage, Sierra makes their BlitzKing #1507 in that weight. My thinking here is that if your emphasis is on accuracy, you'll probably be happier with Sierra, especially at longer range, than with Speer, but you'll pay more. If you want a good balance of accuracy and price, and are not especially after long range, look at Hornady's 70 grain SP and their 75 grain HP. I've drilled any number of one-holers with these bullets, but would keep them to 200 yards and less.

Hey thanks alot , yeah i understand tht varmint bulelts do alot of damage. but the other reason i like them is no riccochetts , because thats an issue sometimes where i hunt. what is your favourite ,243 load varmint or match or hunting ? powder and bullets.

I have also had excellent luck with the tnt's. I load them in a .22 br and also a .243 ackley improved. I have found, in many instances, that these bullets are just as, if not more accurate than the v-max's. Good luck.

Oh yeah...... Make sure you give IMR 4350 a chance.

I have never given Speer a chance in the 6mm. I was soured on their products using several different 30cal bullets and rifles. I never could get the kind of accuracy from Speer as I could the other makers.

None of my shooting buddies or competitors use Speer either. Most would say that it would be their 4th choice. Obviously many on these boards disagree, and use Speer quite often.

WTS, if the Nosler bullets were giving me dime-sized groups, I think I would suck it up and pay the price difference. Of course, one never needs much of an excuse to test out some new loads.

Stinger. I have never tried the speer bullets in larger calibers, nor have I ever tried them on big game. I was introduced to them by a fellow prarie dog shooter, and have found that they are very accurate in the smaller calibers. When I say this I am talking about the tnt bullet only, as I have never tried any other style of speer bullet. If you have the time sometime, give them a try, you might be surprised at thier accuracy. Good luck.

Although this may not help you much, a different caliber. I loaded some Sierra Gameking SP in 120 grain for a 7mm mag. Very small and fast for caliber. However, were VERY accurate loads. 5 touching and looked like a dime!

Maybe, extrapolating here if you were to try these out in your caliber you may have the same results as I did with mine.

Shot coyotes with them last weekend from About (no rangefinder) 300 yards. Shot and buddy told me I got him because I lost them in the scope firing. Looking at me and I aimed for center of chest. When getting there I hit him in the center of the chest exactly where I had aimed. Used one of the lower crosshairs on a Burris ballisticplex scope.

So 120 grain @ around 3200 fps ruined his Saturday morning!

I've gotten superb accuracy from the .308 125gr TNT. I shoot it in competition.

Just getting to the bottom of a 500 bulk pack of the Rem. 80 gr HP"s from Midway. Got several 5 shot dime sized groups from my Ruger M77 Target. Then the groups became patterns. I decided to weigh each of the last one hundred. About 1/3 were in the 79/81 grain range. The rest were 76.7 up to 85 grains. To the Rugers credit, or my advanced aging shakes I can still hold these bullets to 1 1/2" groups. Yeh the price was right, but you only get what your willing to pay for......

Amen to the Game Kings. I loaded some for my 22-250 to hunt deer w/ due to my shoulder problem this season. Check out this picture of the near exit wound on the shoulder of this deer I shot w/ it.http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...007pix0039.jpg This was from a 55gr Sierra Game King shot from a 22-250. It busted through both shoulders, and just about exited as you can see from the photo.

My son shoots the Speer 70gn TNT in his .243. I use Varget for making these loads for him.He shoots a Rem.700 and average 5 shot groups are .75 in. when he does his part.

I agree with Stinger. I have reloaded Speers in .30 and .22 rifle calibers, and 10mm and .45 pistol. They are not what they're cracked up to be from an accuracy standpoint. For me, Sierra consistently outperforms them. Speer bullet weights have been all over the place in my experience. I'm soured on them too. Try combined technologies by the way. You may like them. I think Berger makes a 6mm hunting bullet also. I know they do for .22.
