I read this thread and found the Midway Competition Range Bag. Ordered one, and used it for the first time yesterday.

All i can say is awesome!! Its a great bag, and at $39 it was a steal. Saw a pretty much identical version by Bob ALlen at my range. That would have set me back $89. Glad I didn't see it earlier. Might have bought it and F'd up.

Don't hesitate to support Midway's products.

Anyone got a link on that midway bag? Went to the website and it was a bit screwy sending me to odd locations.

I got my range bag at Lowes, its a rugged canvas "tool" bag that works very well to transport guns, ammo, cleaning supplies, etc... Nice quality and worked out a lot better than I anticipated.

The Midway Bag is on-sale.

It is $39.99 again until 10/31.

So far my Midway bag is working great! Holds a ton of stuff and keeps me very organized. Great deal for $39.98.

Another recommendation for the MidwayUSA competition range bag. It's on the large size but holds a lot of gear.

If an Academy sporting goods store is in your area, they sell a range bag that appears to be the same as the Midway competition bag, but with the Academy logo. The cost is $59 v $39, though.

I would caution against paying over $100 for the 5.11 bag. I have heard through the grapevine that it is the same bag as the two mentioned above, but with a different logo.

Avoid the Glock range bag. For the $, you can get a much better bag at midway.

(Disclaimer: this is the only time you'll hear me say "avoid Glock products". I'm such a fanboy I even have the entrenching tool.)

The best range bag that I have found was at TJ MAXX. It is an Eddie Bauer diaper bag. It has lots of storage. I paid 10 bucks for it.

I got both the large and the small Midway bags and they are both great bags for the price. I think that I paid about $40.00 for the large and about $28.00 for the smaller one (both on sale). I just wish that their website was a little bit faster, it is almost a pain to shop there.

I use a small suitcase/large attache case I bought from a flea market for $5. It's some kind of plastic with study hinges and latches.

When open almost all of its contents are in full view. Nothing can get dented or banged up sliding around in the trunk. It was cheap. It is inconspicuous. I like it much better than the soft bag I used to carry.

This was a very timely and helpful thread - thank you for the recommendations. I ordered a Midway bag - the $40 price/value was too good to turn up.
