Well I just loaded a couple boxes of .223 using WIN primers, assorted range brass, 16grs IMR4227 and remington 55gr FMJ. Total cost was about $9 for 100. Now I know that this is less than even wolf .223, BUT...that's only 30% less. If I were to use heavier powder the price would go even higher.
I just found this site: http://www.iidbs.com/hitech This man is selling pulled .224 bullets for $26 per thousand! And surplus powder(Win 748) for $64 for an 8lbs keg. Has anyone here bought from this setup? DW [This message has been edited by Deathwish (edited May 21, 2000).] |

You won't set any benchrest records with it, but it's adequate for for almost anything you're likely to need.
I get flamed for this, but if you're shooting NRA Highpower, it'll get you through Marksman & Sharpshooter. Yr. Obt. Svnt. ------------------ Fred J. Drumheller NRA Life NRA Golden Eagle |

Well it's for my mini-14 so match-grade accuracy was never really a concern. I really like the mini for plinking and I thought that this would be a cheap way to do it.
What about the SS109 pulls and the powder? DW |

I use new, now pulled, IMI 55gr. fmjbt, from Widener's, for $35 per thousand, shipped. Also use AA2200 powder, with great results. I have paid Natchez $47, per 8# keg, including shipping and hazmat. (I bought four 8# kegs)
The IMI is the most accurate bulk bullet that I've tried. |

Yo walter! You have a link on where I could get the same as you?? $47 per 8lb keg is a great price and $35 for 55s isn't too shabby either; both are in my price range.

I just bought 2000 pulled 45 bullets from them (Hi Tech). No Problem. The sent them in two 50 cal ammo cans. Shipping took 3 business days and I got just what I ordered. They also sent me a Hi-tech pin.
If your gonna buy pulled ss109 or M855 Get the #1 grade (no marks). Hi tech has those for $60 dollar per 1000. Of course, if you're just blastin the 55 grain looks real good at $26 dollars per 1000. Shipping is extra.. sheesh thats still cheep. They would get to Indiana for about $35 dollars a 1000. [This message has been edited by Patrick Graham (edited May 22, 2000).] |
