Input on Blackhawk 5-5-10 Fanny pack

Does anyone have one of these? If so, how do you like it? It LOOKS like exactly what I want, but I sure would appreciate some input before I fork out the money for one. Thanks, Snakeshot.

It's a great pack, Snakeshot. Highly recommended. Blackhawk has the finest quality material and workmanship I've seen. I did alot of comparison shopping on the Net, range bags and packs, and they came out on top. I particularly like their tactical zipper work. Heavy duty stuff and easy to use. The pack itself is not for jogging, so it depends on what you need it for. For LE work, civilian walking around, hiking, it's great. A little on the large side, not as compact as the Coronado leather packs (of which I have two). But you won't regret having bought one, for sure. Enjoy.

I have both a large and a medium model and really like them . The medium fits a Glock 19 size weapon to a T , any bigger and you will need a large . Give Geri at Geared Up a call , she will fix you up with one . Good luck , Mike...

Had one. Built like all Blackhawk products -well made and indestructible. Problem is, to me, everything about it absolutely screams "GUN" (as with most weaponpacks, but moreso, imho). It's the most "boxy" of all weaponpacks I've tried (and I've tried them all). The big rubber-coated zipper tabs seem unproportionally large. Putting your favorite patch on it may help, but to me, it just doesn't look like your typical everyday fanny pack. Your goal is to look like everyone else wearing a fanny pack. You can't do that with the Blackhawk.

Funny story: I was at a knife show a few years ago, and struck up a conversation with a guy looking at some knives. I recognized his Blackhawk pack immediately, and I asked him what he was carrying. He turned out to be an LEO. He was surprised (and a bit embarrased) that he had been "made"!

I use a $10 Everest brand fanny pack (blue in color)I picked up at a swap meet. I sewed an Uncle Mike's pocket holster inside, and attached one of those clip-on ball compasses to the zipper-pull (provides excellent purchase). I challenged my buddy (who uses a Galco Escort) to some speed draws. VERY CLOSE draw times!

Besides, if I ever find myself in a situation where I'm going to have to draw from my fanny pack, I'll make sure I'm moving towards cover (if I'm not already behind cover)! Fanny packs aren't about speed, IMHO. Their primary purpose is concealment, and to me, there are better concealment fanny pack options.
