Weatherby Vanguard 300 WSM
WV 300 WSM arrived, and as advertised, had a target with a 3 shot group of 1.5", spreading right to left. What are 2 or 3 accurizing things I can do to bring the target groups to 1" or less?

Lighten the trigger have the action bedded, it has made my gun’s shoot more consistently and tighten up the groups, along with good reloading practices including seating bullet's close to the lans & finding the best powder's for your Particular cartridge.

My hunting buddy just bought that exact same rifle from our local Walmart - $390 +tax. The enclosed target had 3 shots that were almost touching.

Thanks for the advice Hard hit, it was spot on. After lightening the trigger, bedding the action, and fire lapping the barrel, the 5 shot groups went from 1.5 inches to consistently .625 inch.
Next, I'll test powder weights for best standard deviation. Then incrementing bullet seating for final tuning. Cheers |
