AR-15 question

Can someone tell me what the thread size and pitch is for the single screw that attaches the pistol grip to the lower receiver on an AR-15? And what length screw is required?

TIA

I cannot give you a perfect answer.I expect you need the screw and you want to go to the hardware store instead of ordering from Midway.I do not have a drawing, and I don't have a spare screw for one.I think if you go get a 1/4-28 by 1 in,and a 1/4-28 by 1 1/4 in,you can get it done. Now,there may be a metric designation,I can't say.Do not force it if it does not feel right.Get a slotted pan head Put a little blue loctite on.You could use a button head, but if your allen socket rounds out it will be ugly.

My AR has a 1/4x28, however to my understanding some AR's have a 1/4x22.
I believe the screw in mine is 7/8 inch long.
