Some gunbroker insanity,,,
In a different forum I saw this completed gunbroker auction,,,
Am I reading the auction details correctly?,,, $1,575.00 for a Beretta 87 Cheetah. In the discussion about the auction,,, One member stated that the Model 87 has been discontinued. Is that true? I went to berettausa.com and it still lists the pistol. I bought mine new more than 2 years ago,,, I would not sell it as I love it,,, But still, $1,575.00? Does anyone know the real facts about the Model 87 being discontinued? Aarond .

I saw a Marlin Camp Carbine in .45 ACP finish up an auction at $1510. I like those little rifles a lot but come on! They use 1911 mags so there isn't even a mag issue with them!

The real facts are that some people who buy on Gunbroker are just plain nuts. I saw a Ruger PC40 the other day sell for $1250.00. There are two separate auctions getting ready to end for Ruger BX25 magazines and both are at $65.00 and could go higher. Nuts.

I don't think so, but I think I will sell my 600.00 PX4 on Gunbroker next week.
Ha, not really - I like it but it does sound like they are a bit crazy. The bidding makes people that way sometimes and it is more about the bidding than the gun. |

I would be willing to bet that it wouldn't still be up on their website if they were being discontinued.

My cousin ordered my LE trade-in 5906 from SOG on 12/3/2012. He recieved it on 12/5/2012. SOG was selling them for $309 with 2 mags. At that time I saw them selling on Gunbroker for $300-$400. I now see them selling for a minimum of $500 +!

I have noticed! Gunbrokerr used to be a pretty good place to go to get a feel for gun prices but its wacko now!
I saw a beretta 92 used but in immaculate condition for $400 even at a local hardware store, on GB they look to be selling for $550-$650! Crazy the difference is so high. And no I didn't buy the Beretta. Wanted too though! |

Yes, and it's glorious!
I've made a thousands on GB dumping excess EBRs, high-cap mags, ammo and such. I've sold SCARs for over a thousand more than I paid for them. Glock mags for 3 times what I paid. PMAGs for 4 times what I paid for them. Surefire 60-rounders for double what I paid for them and so much more. The only things I haven't sold are things that have an NFA tax stamp like my Saiga SBS. In a year or so prices will work their way back down as an AWB is going nowhere and you can restock at lower prices. Instead of marveling at the absurdity of it all, start dumping your excess toys on there and cash in, as this won't last forever.

If I had a lot of militaristic stuff, I would profiteer off of it like mad but would keep a reasonable outfit of top quality for myself. Because I think we will get an AWB and it will not be feasible to reequip. No point clinging to a lot of stuff because it will not be legal to "traffic" in it. |

There are many thousands of gun buyers who are going to wake up in a year feeling as if they had just regained consciousness in a strange place after a wild party and discovered they had been robbed.
There is some real foolishness taking place lately...

Regardless of what you think of the President, you have to admit that he was correct in saying that weapons manufacturers have used the threat of possible legislation to cash in. Nothing like the bogyman's Jack-Booted-Thugs coming to get your guns to make people freak out and clean out your inventory. For which I tip my hat and thank them.

My net worth has actually increased substantially due to the new value of my arsenal should I need cash for some reason!

That's what the Evil Pawn Shop Guy said,,,
Quote:
But he did tell me that if I had any guns I would sell,,, Now is the time to do so because he can guarantee some good prices. I'm so glad that I went on that gun buying spree in November-January last year,,, I wasn't thinking of this madness especially but was just spending some windfall money. I had made a wish-list of every gun I really wanted to own,,, Now the list only has a few that I can easily live without. I thought I had paid high when I bought a very nice S&W Model 63 for $625.00,,, Today the auctions show only one for that price as of now,,, There are seven more auctions and they are all over $750.00 today. I might be able to turn a quick buck today,,, But I would never be able to replace them tomorrow. What sucks is that even the el-cheapo revolvers,,, The ones I could afford to buy as graduation gifts for friends have gone out of sight as well. Aarond . Aarond .

Since I don't have an FFL, I haven't totally jumped on all the opportunities I've seen, but I've dumped my personal collection.

Seen these go for $2,200 on GB. I assure you I paid less than half that. Way less.
