Remington 870 barrel

Hi all. Just a quick question. I'm interested in purchasing this barrel for my Remington 870 but I'm curious to know if this certain barrel has choke threads for the possibility of using different types of chokes. The discription says "Fixed Improved Cylinder"?

Also I would really appreciate it, if someone could tell me if the price for this barrel on Midwayusa is a fair price? and if someone could recommend another site where I could purchase a parkerized barrel

Thank You!

No choke tube - it's "fixed."

Find the one you want, then google the Remington part # for the best price. Probably won't be at Midway if others have it.

Would it be possible to send it into a gunsmith to thread it?

Maybe. Why not just buy what you want? What exactly are you looking for, other than threaded for choke tubes?

I'm just looking for a 20" parkerized (non-rifled) barrel that is threaded so I could use chokes for it. Or at least one that is a fixed modified choke, but I cant seem to find them.

If those are all requirements, then I agree - you're kinda SOL. If you can compromise on length or color then there are options.

If you are looking for REAL Parkerizing, you may have to go direct to Remington for a Parkerized Police barrel, and I don't think they have ever made those with choke tubes. The flat finish normally seen on Expresses is NOT Parkerizing. They call it "matte", but others have some different choice names for it. A good gunsmith can fit choke tubes to most any barrel, often cheaper than a different barrel. I would wholeheartedly recommend Mike Orlen for price AND quality.

They made the barrel you are looking for! I used to have one. It is not going to be easy to locate one though. Probably easier to get a standard smoothbore deer barrel threaded for chokes.

I didnt see one with a bead sight, but Corsons has a 20 inch Vent rib with removable choke tubes.

Spoke too soon. It is a matte finish, not parked.

try here for what you are looking for,
www.e-gunparts.com

Why a choke on a short barrel?
Most 18 1/2 -20 " barrels are home defence/police type.
