marlin 917v .17 cal

marlin supplies their own bases for scopes,on this rifle, will a high mount weaver scope rings fit this base, or do i have to purchase them from marlin

I have a 50MM Nikon Prostaff 3X9 on mine with 1/4" of clearance for an even larger bell. The marlin 917VS-CF is a real shooter but the Ejector seems problematic. Good luck trying to talk to a human @ Marlin as they are not able to process the calls period. 2 1/2 " group or smaller @ 200 yards with Hornady ammo 17gr V-max firing 25 rounds!
