m193 match ammo?
Is anyone aware of any 5.56/.223 cal, 55 gr, match loads, or at least bullets? Or are all 55 gr. bullets considered just "ball"? All the match bullets I see are either 52gr, or 69 gr. Why no 55`s? Thanks guys!

Lots of 55 gr match bullets out there, for people who want to fine tune their target loads.
Berger, Calhoun, DKT, JLK, Starke, that I see on one pass through the Handloader's Digest. I guess Sierra, Speer, Nosler, and Hornady didn't see the market, their 52/53 grain match bullets are so good. But they all make 55 grain HP, SP, and plastic tip varmint bullets that are much more accurate than ball or commercial FMJ and can give the match bullets a run for their money in some barrels. |

Accuracy is in the base
Therefore, most FMJ's are iffy on accuracy and its nearly impossible to make an M193 spec. into match. Furthermore, the powder charges M193 is loaded with aren't exactly match grade either since the primary goal is velocity.
That said, a 55 gr BTHP/SP would make a much better choice than the FMJ. Most HP's are expanding types and for higher BC, select the Blitzking Sierras (polycarbonate tip). |

Thanks guys. Do any of you have pet loads, that would have a similar p.o.i. as m193? (I`m looking for a good target load that has the same trajectory as the m193, I dont want to change sight settings, when switching ammo.) Do you guys like RL15? Any help would be appreciated!
