Does Powder Go Bad Part II?
I want to thank everyone for all your responses, it put my concerns to rest about my powder.
Secondly, my next question concerns primers. I have several thousand primers that have been in a sliding drawer metal compartment in the garage for 15 years. They were not stored in the same climate controlled conditions as my powder was. How do you tell if primers are bad? They look as if they were brand new. There is no discoloration of the cup material, primer material appears/looks as if I purchased them yesterday. Any advise is appreciated. Thanks Rocky |

Shoot in. Put a few in a case and fire it empty. I've got some primers from 80s that still got bang.

I asked the Insensitive Munitions expert about the shelf life of primers.
He could not think of any shelf life issues. Apparently primers last much longer than powders. I do not know when they dud out.

Effectively they are brand new. |
