any ideas?

I'm stationed at HAAF down in savannah ga and we are not allowed by our chain of command to carry or transport a weapon in a vehicle on post. my problem isnt with carrying on post, its the fact that i cant leave my carry gun in the truck while on duty so its there when i get off. savannah isnt the nicest of places, my girlfriends mom was carjacked here 2 years ago and left the state. i've allways carried at least my .38 when im out on the town but what am i supposed to do for the times when i cant get back to the house before i have to go somewhere? just about six months ago i had a soldier get in a bad situation downtown and im sure that if i hadnt had my .45 on me when i picked him up both of us would have been in the hospital or worse. does anyone have any suggestions?

How about parking it off post, . . . more than one sailor's vehicle had a weapon in it, . . . just outside the 32nd St gate at San Diego.

May God bless,
Dwight

Sometimes there are storage rental facilities nearby base entrances - maybe you could rent one if it exists?
