micro adjust tripod for spotting scope
I just bought a good spotting scope that I plan to use both at the range and for hunting. I've discovered how difficult it can be to make small adjustments to center the object you want to view, so I'm looking for something with a "micro adjust" feature.
My old Tasco tabletop tripod had micro adjustments for both windage and elevation, but that tripod only fit the Tasco scope, not scopes with the 1/4-20 threads for typical camera tripods. Bushnell makes a micro adjust tripod but I read some absolutely HORRIBLE customer reviews of that tripod. I prefer not to buy a verticle rod scope mount because that's not useful for hunting, though that might be my last resort for use at the range. Does anyone know of a good micro adjust tripod? or a micro adjust adapter that works with a camera tripod? Thanks |

Freeland makes probably the best table top scope stand. I haven't used mine in decades. Never have found a table or bench sturdy enough to keep it from wobbling.
I use an old professional camera tripod, works fine. There are many good camera tripods on the market with all kinds of adjustments. Your budget is your only limitation. Personally, I think you would be OK with an inexpensive camera tripod. Once in place they stay except on extremly windy, stormy windy, weather. |

My problem is making fine adjustments.
I have a good tripod. Once I get it where I want it, it stays put just fine.
