Kershaw Avalanche
Now I believe I've found another knife I cannot live without:
http://www.thebladeshop.com/index.as...FRDAJAodglQKog S60V blade steel G10 handles Speed-Safe AO (but evidently thumb-stub only; no flipper) That's some hella-hard stainless steel - if properly heat-treated - anyone know the quality of Kershaw's heat treatment on S60V? I've already got the Kershaw/Onion Leek in S30V/G10, but this Avalanche looks very sweet. Another similar knife is the Kerhsaw "Boa", which DOES have the flipper, but uses 6061-t6 handles instead of G10. It also uses S60V blade steel: http://www.thebladeshop.com/index.as...ROD&ProdID=276 Which one of these would you get. The Avalanche has more of a clip point, versus a drop point on the Boa, but pretty similar. |

Love Kershaw. Great blade for the money. I've carried a Storm for some time now. Love it. The Avalanche looks real nice ...

Yeah, love Kershaw too, particularly the AOs - that Storm looks nice.
They've got some really interesting folding blades now with AO, including the Leeks, Chives, & Scallions, the Avalanches & Boas, the Whirlind/Blackouts, the Bump models, and the Offset. Also many offerings in some premium blade steels like s30v, s60v, and sandvik 13c26, at a value price. |
