Do i need solvent with WeaponShield?
I just got a new Glock 23 and ordered some Weapon Shield. I know it's a CLP, but does it work well as a cleaner or should I use a separate solvent? I read a thread about how the guns clean easier after several applications, but would the solvent mess that up? Any thoughts are appreciated.

I prefer using a dedicated solvent on the dirty parts like the bore and chambers. Weapon Shield might work for that, and definitely works on the lighter stuff. Give it a try and see what happens!

Same answer from me. I prefer to use a solvent in the bore like Butch's Bore Shine on rifles and occasionally on pistols. 99% of the time on pistols, I just keep reapplying a good CLP and wiping off what I flush out. . .
For the Glock only, I'm thinking CLP alone would be best, until you see copper streaking. . etc. |

I'll sometimes use Weaponshield exclusively, but usually I'll use MPro-7 first. It is non-toxic as is WS (pretty much).

I used Weapon Shield on a couple of boltguns and handguns in the past for experiment. It seems to work well for lubricating on both. Cleaning is acceptable on the bolt guns, no so much on the handguns (semi autos). I do admit I'm very picky with cleanliness on my firearms.
