Loading RUM 338

I am loading 338 RUM, using Nosler Bt 185gr. no cannulure on bullet. Would like to know if any crimping is needed since this is fairly heavy recoil gun. Have not been in reloading long so help would be appriated. Thanks

I reload 300 ultra mag without a crip, I haven't had any problems. My rifle is a Sendero so it's a relitively heavy rifle. The recoil is not any heavier than my 7 mag. If your shooting a lighter rifle crimping might be the way to go however. I'd like to hear from others to compare notes.

Thanks Bill

My rifle is remington 700. Nosler recommended not to crimp. Most books say not to crimp if no cannalure. I realize not to crimp so it wont distort the bullet. I thought maybe I could make it fit a little tighter. Anyway I will give it a try w/0 crimp and see what happens. Thanks much Bill
