1891 Argentine Mauser forearm

How does the small wood forearm attach to the
barrel of my rifle. I bought the forearm at a gun
show a few years ago, without any hardware.

If I looked at the correct rifle, the handguard is wired on.

Thank you for that link. That rifle is similar to mine. I am going to install it with some stainless tie wire.

Don't use stainless. You usually can't get it twisted correctly due to the hardness of the wire.

Originally, the upper hand guard was attached with BRASS wire.

I thought of that already from tying salt water fishing rigs
My friend has stainless tie wire he uses on his Cessna to secure
certain parts and I was going to try some of that softer wire, if
that don't work out, I'll try solid copper wire. I wanted something that
doesn't rust. I'll let you know how things go.
