Buying Dad a gun 'safe'

I promised to get him a small handgun safe so his wife feels better about having them in the house. After 25 years of marriage she finally relented and said she was neutral about getting one (other than his 22 revolver).

Dad said he's the only guy in the family that doesn't have a 'real' handgun for protection.

From what I gather he has a CTD, Bass Pro and Academy near his place in the Dallas area. Any suggestions on a decent one around $60 available at those stores?

Does he have a Harbor Freight nearby?

They have some small steel digital safes that are well built considering the price. I'm not a huge fan of the inexpensive Chinese safes, but he can probably get something that's a bit bigger for the same price from them.

I have one that I keep some checkbooks in, and I haven't broken it yet.
