7.5x55 Reduced Load

I am looking for reduced load data for the 7.5x55 Swiss that I will be using in a K31 rifle.

I will be using Sierra either 155 Palma, 168MK or 175MK bullets.

I have good success with using 4795 in a 308, using Sierra 155 Palma and 25gr of 4795, from 100 to 385 yards and am trying to determine if I would use similar loads for the K31.

I'm not aware of anyone who is reducing the Swiss round. My advice would be to call the powder manufacturer and see what they have to say.

I'm showing a max of 21.0 grs SR4759 with the 150 bullet. Start data at 15.0 grs. Caution should be used and start plenty low and work up. SR4759 is a favorite of mine but it can spike pressure in a hurry. Load at your risk.

I use a reduced load, but with a lighter bullet. Speer 110 gr. plinker over 25gr. of H4198. Runs about 2,000fps, or about M1 Carbine level.

Yup, SR-4759 is a great reduced powder, but overloads can get interesting very quickly. 21 grains sounds kinda low. The 30-40 Krag has a max load of 24.5 grains of SR-4759 + 150 grain bullet and that operates at a far lower pressure than the 7.5x55 pressure limit, 37,300 CUP according to the IMR website. 21 grains of SR-4759 and a 150 grain bullet should be a good starting point for a plinking load. You should be able to gradually work your way up to the max for the 30-40 Krag and still be safe.

I use 21.0 of Accur 5744 with a 170 grain bullet, it's cast but still produces great accuracy. You can certainly use that as a reduced load with jacketed as well. I think you should try it, you'll be surprised.
