Photos Tulsa Match 31 October 2009

Have more photos, but software would only allow three per thread. I'm a gun guy, not a computer guy.

It`s always good to see seniors getting out and enjoying theirselves .
What do young people do for fun ? Golf ? Tennis ?
Will they move up the ladder and carry on after we are gone ?

If someone would put up a gun for me to use, I'd'a been there and represented the 20-something crowd. That and if I were anywhere need Tulsa at the time. Looks like fun, wish I could have participated.

It sometimes seems that the youth are more interested in using a joystick and seeing smoke & flames on a TV screen than seeing the real thing. On the other hand, they may not know that the real thing is available. I honestly never heard of CAS until this past July. If it's 'old' guys talking to their buddies about it (usually other 'old' guys) then the younger ones may never be getting the word. The "young" ones that I've talked to about CAS think it sounds cool. I've got a number who want to go with me and check it out.

Thanks for posting the pictures. One thing the blackpowder community must do is reach out to younger shooters. In the past twenty years, we've really enjoyed a renaissance with a lot of research and increased workmanship that rivals or exceeds that of the old masters. However, unless we can entice the younger crowd to join our ranks, we can fade in numbers. Personally, I think we should draw in the Civil War community as there's a lot of shooters (N-SSA) in their ranks.
