another 40 S&W question
Anyone load the 40 with Oregon Laser Cast 180g TC? Couldn't find a decent reference so loaded rounds in front of 4.6 grn. Win 231, OAL 1.135". Had slight primer set back, and 1 case with slight amount of black ring around primer. Backed off to 4.4grn Win. 231 still have minute amount of primer set back. Super comfortable load to shoot but small signs of of too much pressure bother me. My everyday load is with 155g Speer Gold Dots with 6.0 Win 231 pushing it. Running these through a Sig 2340. Just looking for a good paper punching, can rolling load that won't break the bank. I may have to break out the wallet and get the Laser Cast Book.

First, I've always found the folks at OT helpful
and willing to provide suggested loading data for their bullets.
Second, bookmark this site: http://home.columbus.rr.com/jmaass/ipscload.htm If you want a load for .40 S&W, you'll find one there. |

Thank you, We Shoot and Number 6. I have bullseye and power pistol. Lots of choices on the IPSC Load Page. Looks like I'm close to a load listed there with the 180g cast and Win 231. Guess I'll go back to the basement and play some more. Thanks for the info gentlemen!

experience
I've found Power Pistol very 'benign' in the 40 S&W; excellent accuracy potential.
Plenty of zip, too, if you want it........
